Thomas Glisson b.bef 1709 listed as freeman in 1730-1732-1737-1738 in Chester Co. PA. No other info on him at this time.

Thomas Glisson b. bef 1748 listed as inmate in 1769-1779 Chester Co. PA. Also listed freeman 1771, and on the rolls of John Harris' Co. for Willistown, Chester Co. PA in Rev War in 1781. No other info on him. He could not have been the same Thomas Glisson as above. He probably was his son or g-son though. This Thomas is probably father of Caleb Glisson b.1777 below.

John  Glisson b.bef 1758 listed in Rev. War record in Chester Co. PA above and having residence out of the state.  He is probably the John Glisson who is listed in the Somerset Co. Hillsbrough Twp. NJ  TAX LIST for Sep 1797.  Also listed on this same tax list was Benjamin Runyan father of Rebecca Runyan who married the below Thomas Glisson born 1783.

Caleb Glison b.bef 1761 who married 1782 to Sarah Wiggins at the Swedes Church in Philadelphia.
Probably a brother or  1st cousin of Thomas Glisson b.bef 1748 above and son or g-son of Thomas Glisson b.bef 1709 above. His wife Sarah was dau of Thomas Wiggins & Sarah Risley who also were married at the Swedes Church. Thomas Wiggins left will in Chester Co. PA leaving land in Cumberland Co. PA.

Thomas Gleston b.bef 1774 listed in 1790 census in Mifflin Co. PA. He may have been one of the Thomas Glisson's above or may not even been a Glisson at all. No other info on him at this time.

Dennis & Francis Gleeson both married at the Swedes Church in Philadelphia may have been Glisson's and if so probably brothers of Caleb Glisson above? No further info on them either.

In the Portrait & Biographical History of Knox Co. IL, Thomas Runyan Glisson a son of Thomas & Rebecca's states that his father Thomas was born in Carlisle, Cumberland Co. PA. Another son of Thomas & Rebecca Glisson, Oliver S. Glisson was the Rear Admiral Oliver S. Glisson that several historical biographies have been written. In one written by his two sons in which I have a copy, that includes about 100 pages and mostly list his military career they state that Oliver S. Glisson is connected to Dr. Francis Glisson which many historical accounts have been written. This Dr. Francis Glisson was b.1595 in England. His line traces back to 1490 England which I will include in the Glisson families in England. It is believed that the Francis Glisson who settled in Northampton Co. VA about 1654 was a nephew of Dr. Francis Glisson. Thomas b.bef 1709 above may be a g-son or gg-son of Francis Glisson of Northampton Co. VA. Also the Glissons in early 1700 NC may be descendants of Francis of Northampton Co. VA. I cannot prove that Thomas Sr. b.1783 was a son of Caleb Glisson & Sarah Wiggins but the facts are that he named a son Caleb Glisson and a dau Sarah Wiggins Glisson according to his bible. He was born in Carlise, Cumberland Co. PA and Thomas Wiggins father of Sarah Wiggins left land in Cumberland Co. PA. Thomas may have also lived in Somerset Co. NJ and met Rebecca Runyan there and married there in 1806 or he could have met her in Hamilton Co. OH and married her there. John  Glisson listed in Somerset Co. Hillsborough Twp. Tax List Sep 1797 may have been his uncle or father? Thomas & Rebecca Runyan Glisson were my g-g-g-gp. Benjamin Runyan father of Rebecca Runyan listed in this same tax list.

Thomas Glisan b.1801 in MD wife Cyrene Beckwith was the son of John Glisan & Elizabeth Hartsock, and the grandson of Thomas Glisan (Glisson) & Margurite. His grandfather Thomas b.1735 in County Limerick, Ireland came to MD about 1750. This family will be portrayed in the MD Glisson families. Even though they used the Glisan spelling I include them as Glisson's for clarification. The Glisan's listed in Somerset and Fayette Co. PA are descendants of this family.

There was several listed as Glisson in one census but then listed as Gleason, Gleeson, Gleson in the others . There was a lot of Gleason's from Ireland who came to PA especially in City of Philadelphia. I do believe they were Gleason and not Glisson. I try as much as possible to differentiate the Gleason & Glisson families although sometimes it is hard to separate them.

The following are family groups of (1) Caleb Glisson b.1777, (2) Frank Glisson b.1842 wife Mary who is most likely related to Caleb b.1777 family but I cannot connect. (3) ? Glisen wife Rosanna b.1797 maybe not related to rest of the PA Glissons ? (4) Caleb Glisson b.bef 1761 wife Sarah Wiggins. Their son Thomas is portrayed thoroughly in Ohio families. This is my direct line. I included this family with the PA family groups because they trace back to PA although I do not have any records in PA that pertain to Thomas.     Co. IN census.  He left there 1828 and bought land  near Dunlap, Colerain Twp. Hamilton Co. OH which was
    only a couple miles from his 1st home in Springfield Twp.  Hamilton Co. OH.  They were listed in 1830 and
    1840 census in Colerain Twp.  Hamilton Co. OH.  Rebecca died there in 1843 and Thomas died there in 1849
    as did severalof their children and grandchildren.  Smallpox hit Georgetown in the 1840's and many people
    died.  By the 1850's smallpox disappeared and they renamed it Mt. Heathly.

        Hamilton Co. OH and Ellixander or Alexander was their son.
