Lisson, Francis Butler, written 11 Feb 1697-98 recorded 23 Feb 1697-98. Buried near my father & mother at Appomatox, mentions cousin Nathaniel Pope, godson Lewis Pope son of Nathaniel, cousin Lewis Nicholas, children of my friend Law Washington residue of estate and he be exr. (note: this may of been Francis Glisson above. Several people named Gleason used Leason, Gleeson used Leeson etc. in the US. So maybe Glisson was written Lisson in some areas. If so Law Washington in will was grandfather of George Washington. This estate was the exact piece of land that George Washington was born on. I have records to prove that.) Probably not a Glisson but it is interesting.

I have not been able to find any information on Francis & Elizabeth above. Many Glisson researchers think they are the ancestors of most of the Glisson's in America. Until more info can be find that cannot be proved. I do believe that they were related and from Somersetshire, and Dorsetshire in England and were related to Dr. Francis Glisson son of William Glisson of Rampasham. John Glisson son of William Glisson of Rapisham Dorset England had son Francis b. abt 1640. Several Glisson researchers have stated that the above Francis Glisson was son of Henry Glisson another son of William Glisson of Rampisham. That cannot be proved either. There was a large time gap between Francis Glisson and the next Glisson's we find records of in Va. It is possible that this group did indeed go to North Carolina and the Glisson's in early 1700 records were their descendants. More research in NorthHampton Co. Va. needs to be done.
The Thomas Glisson in the 1810 Census Monongalia Co. was Thomas wife Eleanor Tiernan from Prince George Co. Md.
